Using the other yarn end sew the ears onto the body and the base of the ear.

Tail

Make any size Pom Pom out of any white yarn you’d like, trim it to make it look neat and sew it on the body as a tail.

Eyes and Nose

For the eyes cut out felt pieces that match the picture and sew them to the appropriate places.

For the nose you can use felt or you can use scrap pink yarn to sew a nose on like I did. To do this the yarn must be weaved in and out of the body in the shape of a triangle where you’d like the nose to be. Then tie it in a knot and weave the yarn through the body to hide it.

You’re finished!

Repeat rows 1-3 until you have 11 sts total.

This piece will measure out to approximately 5 ¾ inches long from the foundation ch.

Now, Hdc each row of 11 sts until the piece measures 15 ¼ inches from the foundation ch.

Dec rows

R1: Dc dec. Hdc to last two sts. Dc dec. (9)

R2-3: Hdc to end (9)

Repeat rows 1-3 until you have 3 sts total (ending with a dec row).

Button Hole of Headband (Continuing from above…)

Next row: Hdc next st. Ch 1, sk next st. 2 Hdc in next st.  (3 sts and 1 ch1 space)

Final row: Hdc to end including into chain 1 spc. (4 sts total)

F/O and weave in all ends to hide them.

You can sew the black button onto the appropriate area near the foundation ch now.

R2: 2 sc in next st. Sc to last st. 2 sc in next st. (5)

Repeat rows 1-2 until you have 9 sts total.

Slip stitch around the edges of the ears for a nice clean border and F/O. Sew the ears to the main body at a 30 degree angle like in the photo with white scrap yarn.

Bow

Ch 9. Sc in second st from hk and in the rest of the sts. (8)

Sc 13 rows. F/O

Take red scrap yarn and tie a knot in the center of the piece you’ve just crocheted to make it form into a bow.

Bow Button (for center of Bow)

Using the Magic Ring/Circle method add 6 sc to the circle. Sl St into first sc and F/O.

Whipstitch this circular button to the center of the Bow.

Weave all ends to the back of the bow and use one of those ends to whipstitch the bow to the right ear.

Eyes, Nose and Whiskers

For the Eyes and Nose Cut out the appropriate oval sizes out of felt. Then sew these oval pieces with matching color thread in the appropriate places. You may look at the picture for reference.

For the Whiskers cut six 6 inch black yarn pieces. Weave each of these pieces through the main body where you want the whiskers to be and tie them in the back of the headband. There’s no way to hide black yarn by weaving it through the body, but that’s ok. Just knot the whiskers and cut the ends short enough to look presentable.

If you want to get fancy, you can cover these black yarn knots by cutting out white felt and sew the felt to the back of the headband. (but I didn’t do that because it looks fine without)
